Who are we

Our Mission
Girmitiya Heritage is a cultural heritage organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history and cultural contributions of the Girmitiyas, the Indian indentured laborers. Since 2000, we have been working towards raising global awareness and engaging communities through educational resources, digital archives, interactive art and music galleries, and personal stories from Girmit descendants. We strive to make a positive impact with all of our pursuits and empower individuals and communities. Join us in creating real transformation in the lives of so many.
